Parental lock & PINs

Updated 21 July 2026

The parental lock keeps curious fingers out of the important bits — useful on a family tablet that everyone touches.

What the PIN protects

With the lock on, Plannie asks for the 4–6 digit PIN to:

  • Open Settings (once per session).
  • Add, edit, or delete rewards — so ticket prices aren't quietly renegotiated. Redeeming is never locked; kids can always spend the tickets they've earned.

Turn it on

Settings → Family & access → Parental lock. Set the PIN, confirm it, done. Turning it off asks for the current PIN.

You can also set the PIN during initial setup — or skip it there and add it here later.

Forgot the PIN?

Choose Forgot PIN at the prompt. The household owner receives a reset link by email that opens the set-a-new-PIN screen.

Wall-mounted tablets

On a mounted tablet, the native app's "always on screen" mode keeps Plannie awake in landscape — and exiting it requires the PIN, so the display stays the family display.
