Maple alternative

Maple is sunsetting. Your family's plans shouldn't.

Maple sunsets on December 31, 2026, and its data will be deleted. Plannie covers what Maple did - the shared calendar, the email-forwarding inbox, chores and meals - and moving is mostly reconnecting the calendars you already sync.

Move while Maple's export still works

Maple's shutdown notice asks families to export their data before December 31, 2026 - after that it's gone. The good news: for most households the calendar itself never lived in Maple, it lived in Google or Outlook. Reconnect those in Plannie and the family schedule is simply back, two-way sync included.

  • Calendar reconnects in minutes - no re-typing events
  • Forward Maple's exported files to your Family Inbox, or snap them with Magic Import
  • Free plan to land on today; Premium is $99/year for the whole household
  • Works on every device your family owns - phones, tablets and laptops

THE MOVE, STEP BY STEP

  1. Export your data from Maple (their farewell page walks through it).
  2. Create your household at app.plannie.io - add each member with their colour.
  3. Connect Google or Outlook under Settings → Calendar; subscribe Apple as a feed.
  4. Recreate chores as habits and dishes in the meal library - or let Magic Import read your exports.

Frequently asked

When does Maple shut down?+

Maple sunsets on December 31, 2026, after being acquired by Wander. Maple’s own notice says all data will be deleted after that date with no way to recover it, and annual subscriptions have already stopped renewing - so it’s worth moving your family’s setup before the holidays rather than after.

Can I move my Maple calendar to Plannie?+

Mostly automatically. If your events live in a connected Google, Apple or Outlook calendar, just connect that same account to Plannie - Google and Outlook sync two-way and Apple comes in as a subscribed feed, so your calendar simply reappears. Events that exist only inside Maple should be exported before December 31; you can then photograph or forward the export and Plannie’s Magic Import will read the dates in.

Does Plannie have Maple’s email forwarding?+

Yes - it’s called Family Inbox. Your household gets its own email address; forward school newsletters, PDFs and photos of flyers to it and Plannie reads them and adds the events to your calendar. Unknown senders are held for your approval first, so the inbox stays yours.

What replaces Maple’s chores and meal planning?+

Plannie has both built in. Habits and routines give each family member their own column, with tickets earned per completion and rewards to spend them on. The meal planner is a weekly grid with a recipe library - add a dish’s ingredients straight to the shared grocery list.

What does Plannie cost compared to Maple?+

Plannie has a free plan you can start on today, and Plannie Premium is $99 a year covering the whole household - every member, every device, including kiosk mode for a wall tablet. There’s nothing to buy and you can cancel online anytime.
