OurHome is gone. The chore chart doesn't have to be.
OurHome disappeared from Google Play on 28 September 2023 with no warning and no way to export what was inside it, so the chore chart a family built there is gone for good. Plannie picks up the same idea, chores that pay out in real rewards, and adds the calendar sync, meal planning and AI import OurHome never had.
A free chore chart, before it vanished
OurHome was a free chores-and-rewards app built by Cape Horizon Pty Ltd, with no ads and no premium tier at any point in its life. A chore could go to one child, several, or rotate between them on a schedule, each with a due date, a repeating pattern, a reminder, and a late penalty if it slipped past. A parent had to approve a finished chore before its points landed, and those points converted into something real: a weekly allowance, screen time, or a family holiday.
Two smaller tools sat around the chore chart: a monthly calendar sized for a phone screen, with no documented sync to Google, Outlook or an ICS feed, and a shared grocery list with custom categories and suggested items pulled from past purchases. OurHome became one of the more downloaded family organizers of its kind, with around 720,000 installs on Android alone.
It stopped without notice and never came back
OurHome's last update was version 3.14.4, released in October 2020. Nearly three years passed with no further releases, and then, on 28 September 2023, it was pulled from the Google Play Store outright. No shutdown notice went out on the app itself, its website, or anywhere official, and review sites still record how families found out: they were logged out one day and couldn't sign back in, and there was no export button they could have used first.
The App Store listing now returns a 404, and ourhomeapp.com times out rather than loading even a farewell page. Even at its best OurHome never grew past the chore chart: no sync to Google or Outlook, no meal planning, no way to forward a school email or photograph a flyer into it, and no display or kiosk mode for a kitchen tablet.
OurHome by Elusios is a separate, unrelated app from a different developer, launched in October 2025 with a $1.99 unlock. It has nothing to do with the Cape Horizon app this page is about, though some review sites blur the two together.
The bill, before and after
There's no live OurHome price to put next to Plannie's, because there's no live OurHome. The table shows what the app charged while it existed, what can still be recovered now that it's gone, and what it costs a family today to get an equivalent chore chart running again in Plannie. That takes a few minutes rather than the days it took to set up the first time around.

What Plannie won't do
- Late penalties. Chores in Plannie pay out in tickets and never subtract or punish. We left penalties out on purpose
- An automatic import of your old OurHome data. There's no export to pull from, so anything you want to keep has to come from a photo or your own memory
This is a rebuild, not a migration
OurHome never had an export, so there's no file to bring into Plannie and you rebuild the chore chart from scratch. It goes quickly. Setting up a rotating chore with a due date and a reward took real thought the first time. Now that you already know exactly what each child's chores were, doing it again in Plannie takes minutes.
THE MOVE, STEP BY STEP
- If you kept a screenshot or a printed chore chart, photograph it and let Magic Import read the chores straight into Plannie
- Otherwise, recreate each child's chores as habits directly; that's five minutes per child, far less than the setup OurHome originally took
- Set the tickets each chore earns and the rewards they buy, so the payoff kids remember from OurHome shows up again
- Connect Google or Outlook under Settings → Family & access → a member → Sync & calendars → Connect a calendar, since OurHome never synced with either
- Rebuild the grocery list, and set up a first week of meals, since meal planning is another thing OurHome never had

Why did OurHome disappear from the Play Store?+
Google removed it on 28 September 2023, nearly three years after its last update in October 2020. Cape Horizon Pty Ltd, the developer, never published a reason or a shutdown notice, so the removal is documented only by review sites and app trackers, not by the company itself.
Can I still install OurHome somehow?+
Not through either official store. The Google Play listing is gone, the App Store listing returns a 404, and ourhomeapp.com times out rather than loading, so there's no current download path, official or otherwise, that this page can point you to.
Will my kids lose their points if I switch to Plannie?+
There's nothing left to lose from OurHome's side; its servers and any point balance stored there are unreachable already. What you set up fresh in Plannie is tickets tied to rewards you choose, and there's no old balance to carry over, so switching means deciding what those rewards are again.
Do I need to buy anything to replace OurHome?+
No. Plannie's kiosk mode runs on any tablet you already own, and the app itself is free to start, with the calendar, calendar sync, and lists and meals with starter limits. Premium, which adds chores with tickets and rewards, kiosk mode, and unlimited lists and meals, is $99 a year for the whole household, and you don't need any hardware for it.
Does Plannie have OurHome's late penalties?+
No, and that's deliberate. Chores in Plannie always pay out in tickets toward rewards; they never subtract points or penalize a missed deadline. If a late-penalty mechanic was central to how your family used OurHome, know going in that Plannie replaces the reward half of that system, not the penalty half.
