PDF to calendar: every date, extracted.
Term calendars, swim-club schedules, kindergarten newsletters - the dates your family lives by arrive as PDFs. Hand the file to Plannie and every one of them becomes a calendar event.
HOW IT WORKS
- Get the PDF to Plannie. Attach it in Magic Import, share it from Files, or forward the email carrying it to your Family Inbox address.
- Plannie reads it. Text and scanned pages both - up to four files, 10 MB each, per import.
- The dates are events. Each date becomes its own entry on the shared calendar, undoable one by one.
The 14-page newsletter, reduced to what matters
Nobody re-reads the newsletter in week six to check when the class trip is. Once it's been through Plannie, nobody has to: the trip, the deadline for the permission slip and the early finish are on the calendar, in the right child's colour, visible on the kitchen kiosk and on each parent's phone. The PDF did its job once, properly.
Frequently asked
How do I get the dates out of a PDF into my calendar?+
Give the PDF to Plannie - attach it in Magic Import, share it from Files, or forward the email it came on to your Family Inbox. Plannie reads PDFs natively, both the text and the rendered pages, so every date in a term calendar or activity schedule becomes an event on the shared family calendar.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?+
Yes. Because Plannie reads the rendered pages as well as the text layer, a scanned newsletter or a photographed schedule saved as PDF works the same as a digital one. Files up to 10 MB are supported, four at a time.
What does a school term calendar PDF turn into?+
A set of real events - one per date, with sensible titles, on your shared calendar. Not a note, not an attachment you’ll open twice: each holiday, half-term and inset day lands as its own entry the whole household can see.
Can I undo what an import created?+
Yes - every item Plannie creates from an import carries an Undo. Documents you choose to import are applied immediately for speed; anything from a pasted link is previewed first and only created when you confirm.
Which plan includes PDF import?+
PDF reading is part of Magic Import and Family Inbox, both in Plannie Premium - $99 a year for the whole household. The shared calendar with two-way Google and Outlook sync is free to start.
